Robert Matthew "Matt" Butler

August 29, 1971 — February 2, 2026

Robert Matthew “Matt” Butler, of Lone Tree, Colorado, passed away on February 2, 2026. Matt was born on August 29, 1971, in Englewood, Colorado, and brought love to all who knew him.

He graduated from Cherry Creek High School and went on to study at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Real Estate. Matt later attended Regis University, earning his MBA in Accounting and Finance. He spent more than two decades working in the telecommunications industry.

In 2000, Matt married Julie, and together they quickly built a beautiful life and family. They raised two extraordinary children, Ashley and Meghan. Matt was a deeply committed husband and father who took immense pride in his family and their accomplishments.

Those who loved Matt will forever cherish memories of his devotion to family and friends, his time coaching softball, and his unwavering loyalty to the Boston Red Sox. As a lifelong sports enthusiast, he never missed his daughters’ games and often attended games for friends and extended family as well. His love for the Red Sox never wavered, along with his love for dogs. There is no doubt he is now running with “The Pack” in the sky, surrounded by all of the dogs he so dearly adored.

Some of Matt’s fondest memories were made in Breckenridge with his family or at Big Bill’s New York Pizza, where he spent countless Fridays surrounded by friends.

Though he faced a difficult battle with his health after suffering a stroke in 2020, Matt will be remembered for the laughter, kindness, and light he brought into the world.

Matt is survived by his wife, Julie; his two daughters, Ashley and Meghan; his parents, Cindy and Jack; his sister, Clancy Page; her children Jalen (Maddie), Kailey, Grant; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Daniel “Luke” Butler.

A Celebration of Life open house will be held on February 16, 2026, from 11am-2pm at Hudson Gardens “Bloom Room” 6115 S Santa Fe Dr. Littleton, CO 80120. (please wear your favorite sports attire).
