Robert Joseph Burns

Robert Joseph Burns, 80, passed away at his home in Littleton, Colorado, Sunday, August 24, 2014. Robert was born March 31, 1934 in Union, New Jersey to Henry Burns and Elsie Herig. Robert is survived by his three sons Robert Scott Burns, Kenneth Burns and Daniel Burns; his daughter in-law Kara Burns and three granddaughters that brought out his big smile - Mikala Burns, Caitlyn Burns and Samantha Hipps. Robert is also survived by his loyal and caring domestic partner of 10 years - Jeanine Ruby and her five sons Wayne, Tom, Jack, Rob and Steven and Robert's brothers William and Edward, sisters Geraldine Bruno, Katherine Dlouhy, and Patricia Serio. Robert is predeceased by his parents, his step-mother Barbara, his brother Johnny, the mother of his children Elizabeth ""Betty"" Martino and beloved wife Anna (Schaper) Burns. A viewing including services will be held on Wednesday, August 27, at Horan & McConaty, 5303 E. County Line Road, Centennial, CO 80122 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Robert was a loyal friend to many, known for his quick wit, entertaining manner and intelligence. Robert was a graduate of Seton Hall Class of 1963, and in 1991 retired as a purchaser from PSE&G in Newark, New Jersey after serving them for 36 years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a charity of your choice in honor of Robert's generosity to so many others.
