Rita Ann Zarlengo

d. May 15, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Zarlengo, a loving sister and devoted mother, who left us on May 15, 2024. Rita was born in Denver, Colorado, to the late Arthur W. and Irene Zarlengo. Her life was a testament to an unwavering passion for those she cherished.

Rita was an alumna of Regis College, where she earned a degree in English Literature and Philosophy. Following her graduation, Rita worked for several years as a legal secretary in her father’s corporate law office, demonstrating her exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

After the birth of her beloved son, Tony, Rita chose to become a stay-at-home mom. She poured her heart into nurturing Tony’s talents and interests, fostering his love for hard rock and heavy metal music. Rita’s enthusiasm for music was contagious, and she took immense pride in Tony’s achievements as a guitarist in the band Immortal Synn.

Rita’s love for children extended beyond her own family, as she found great joy in her role as a preschool teacher. Her warmth, creativity, and genuine care made her a beloved figure among her students and their families. She had a special gift for making learning fun and engaging, leaving a lasting impact on the young lives she touched.

One of Rita’s many passions was Latin dancing, an activity that brought her immense joy and a vibrant social circle. Her energy and enthusiasm on the dance floor were matched by her love for traveling, exploring new cultures, and experiencing life’s many adventures.

Rita is survived by her son, Tony; her sister, Dianne; and numerous cousins. Rita is predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Irene Zarlengo.

Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will live on through the many lives she touched with her enthusiasm and laughter. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.

A funeral Mass is at 10:00 a.m. on May 24 at St. Vincent de Paul’s Catholic Church, 2375 E. Arizona Ave., Denver, with a private burial following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
