Rita B. Snyder

Rita was born on December 10, 1931 on a farm in Oak Township, Stearns County, Minnesota to Ben & Regina Von Wahlde. She passed away at her home at Springbrooke Senior Living in Denver on September 1, 2026.

Rita worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone in St. Cloud, Minnesota and transferred to Mountain Bell in Denver in the mid 1950’s. She met and married William G. Snyder, a fellow Mountain Bell employee, and they both worked there until their retirement. Rita had 36+ years at Mountain Bell.

She was a special sister, an unbelievable aunt and a very faithful Catholic. Rita had many interests, an immaculate house and yard, enjoyed golf and the Denver Broncos. Rita and Bill had season tickets to the Broncos since the beginning of the franchise. She had a special lifelong friendship with Mary Jo Schmit and they traveled together and enjoyed many good times. Rita truly loved Colorado and she will be laid to rest there with her husband Bill who passed away in 1992.

She was preceded in death by her husband William G. “Bill”, parents Ben & Regina Von Wahlde, brothers Clarence & Joe Von Wahlde, sisters Elsie Mergen & Marie Worms, niece Linda Von Wahlde, nephews, Dale Von Wahlde & Bob Frevel and special friend Mary Jo Schmit.

She is survived by sisters Irene Frevel and Eleanor (Tom) Thelen, sister-in-law Lorraine Von Wahlde, numerous nieces & nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial Monday, September 14th at 10 am at Risen Christ Catholic Church, 3060 S. Monaco Parkway, Denver. Visitation one hour prior to Mass at the Church with a rosary beginning at 9:30 am. Interment Hampden Memorial Gardens, Denver.
