Rita Theresa Clack

Rita Theresa (Rosekrans) Clack of Lakewood, CO passed away on January 11, 2024 at the age of 82 in St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood with family at her side.

She was born in Manhattan, New York on December 7, 1941 to the late Robert A. Rosekrans and late Grace (Keenan) Rosekrans. She grew up in the Bronx, New York along with seven siblings. She spoke recently of the joy that building forts, ice skating, roller skating, playing tag, and riding bikes with her siblings brought her in her youth. She graduated from St. Simon Stock Catholic School in the Bronx before attending community college.

Rita moved along with her family from the Bronx to Bowie, Maryland in October 1964. She graduated from Flight Attendant School in 1966 and worked for United Airlines for nearly 40 years.

She met the love of her life, David Milton Clack on a beach in Jamaica, where they were both vacationing with friends. They married in 1969 at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Bowie, Maryland and welcomed their daughter, Christy Ann, on August 9, 1971. The family moved to Colorado in 1972. Rita and David were married for 38 years before his death in 2007.

Rita was a Coloradan through and through. She loved the Rocky Mountains, going to Estes Park, and taking countless fishing and camping trips with her immediate and extended family. She also loved her many brown Labradors, traveling, visiting the beach, shopping, playing her "Lucky 7's" slots at casinos, and drinking Pepsi. Mostly, she just enjoyed life's simple pleasures, like preparing a lovely meal and baking a dessert to enjoy over a conversation with family and friends. She loved talking and was a truly great listener and advice-giver. She was a member of Christ on the Mountain Catholic Church in Lakewood for many years.

She is preceded in death by her husband David M. Clack; daughter Christy Ann Clack; mother Grace (Keenan) Rosekrans; father Robert Rosekrans; siblings Grace Durkin, George "Pete" Rosekrans, Paula Kelly, Geraldine Mohr, and Robert Rosekrans.

Rita is survived by two brothers, Gerard Rosekrans and Anthony Rosekrans, both of Maryland; 12 nieces and nephews and their families; and cherished long-time friends. She loved her people fiercely and "to the moon and back."
