Rita Elizabeth Bumgarner

Rita E. (Hursting) Bumgarner, of Denver Colorado, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on September 11, 2026 at the age of 96. 

She was born to Alvina and Lawrence Hursting in Denver Colorado on July 27, 1930. 

Rita is survived by her daughters Patricia Dunn; and Marilyn Bumgarner and her husband Scott Kaltenborn; son-in-law Ron Villiotti; granddaughter Stephanie Petrikat and her husband Sebastian Petrikat; and great-granddaughter Nathalie Petrikat. She is preceded in death by her husband Frank E. Bumgarner Jr, her daughter Barbara Villiotti, her son Frank E. Bumgarner III and her son-in-law Larry Dunn. She will be missed deeply by her family and friends.

Visitation and rosary will be held in Rita's honor at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 3101 S Wadsworth Blvd., Lakewood on Thursday September 17, 2026. The visitation will be from 4pm to 6pm with rosary beginning at 6pm. 

A funeral mass will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, 2771 Zenobia St, Denver at 10am on Friday September 18, 2026. 

Private Burial will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Wheat Ridge.
