On March 7, 2023, Rickey Charles Airth Jr., a beloved dad, son, brother, and friend gained his wings at the young age of 36. Rickey was born in Oceanside, California on March 2, 1987, but spent most of his life being raised in colorful Colorado. His family relocated to the small town of Elizabeth when he was just a young child. From city to country, Elizabeth soon became home to him.
Rickey graduated from Elizabeth High School in 2005 where he lettered as a varsity golfer. He then went on to attend the San Diego Golf Academy in Vista, California where he received his Associate of Applied Business Degree with an emphasis in Golf Complex Operations and Management.
Rickey always had a passion for the golf industry, but also found himself falling back on the passion his dad instilled in him as young teenager running heavy equipment. Rickey had a gift to say the least for moving dirt. He was an amazing operator and one hard worker.
Hardworking, goofy, caring, and one amazing dad is exactly who Rickey was. He loved motocross, the thrill, the adrenaline, and the release. He was fearless. Of all things Rickey loved though, he loved being a dad the most. His kids meant the world to him, and he loved them unconditionally. That will forever be a gift for them to cherish and know the rest of their lives.
We will always remember the joyful impact Rickey made on this world during his earthly time. He leaves behind a strong family that will forever vow to carry on his memory. He is survived by his two children, Liam and Harper, his parents Rick and Paula, his sisters Brittany and Destiny, brother in laws Rob and Austin, nieces Grace, Ryleigh and Lilly, and nephews Robert and Tucker.
A service will be held Friday, June 16, 2023, at 11am located at Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church (34201 Co Rd 33 Kiowa, Colorado 80117.) A celebration will follow located at the Kiowa Fairgrounds Agricultural Building (95 Ute Avenue, Kiowa, Co 80117).
