Obituary

Richard Neil Whitmore II

August 26, 1985 - July 20, 2026

Born on August 26, 1985, in Beaufort, South Carolina to Karla Marie Brown and Richard Neil Whitmore I, Rich was raised in Tampa, Florida, a place that remained an important part of who he was throughout his life. He later made his home in Thornton, Colorado, where he built a life filled with the people, passions, and companions he cared about deeply.

A devoted Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, Rich carried his Tampa roots proudly and never missed a game. Every Sunday was spent watching football and cheering on the Bucs. He also had a deep passion for riding motorcycles and the riding community. An avid rider and president of his bike club, being on two wheels was much more than a hobby- it was an important part of his life and brought with it friendships that he valued deeply.

Among the greatest joys in Rich's life were his three dogs, Koba, Lola, and Syris. To whom he was incredibly devoted. They were more than just pets to him; they were his family and constant companions. His love for them reflected the loyalty and dedication he brought to the people and things that mattered most to him.

Rich will be remembered for his contagious laugh and ability to make everyone around him laugh with his sense of humor. He was always the life of the party and made sure everyone around him had a good time. He was always the first person to help someone, especially his friends and family. He would drop everything if someone needed something. He would give the shirt off of his back if it was needed. He was compassionate, kind, and empathetic. His presence will be deeply missed by his family, friends, motorcycle community, and all those fortunate enough to have shared his life.

He is preceded in death by both his parents, mother Karla Marie Brown and father, Richard Neil Whitmore I.
