Richard Joseph Navin, affectionately known as Dick, passed away of natural causes at his home in Littleton, Colorado, on June 25, 2026. He was born on July 31, 1945, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Marguerite Manley Navin and Cyril Ward Navin.

As a young boy, Dick served as an altar boy in elementary school and was proud of his service to the cathedral, an experience that remained a meaningful part of his early life.

Dick graduated from South Dakota State University, where he served in ROTC. Upon graduation, he served in the United States Army at Fort Benning, Georgia, followed by six years of service in the Colorado National Guard. Dick loved his time in the Army and took great pride in his military service.

In the early days of his career, Dick worked as an analyst for Arthur Young. He went on to spend the majority of his professional life in information technology, serving in leadership roles as a manager, director, and chief information officer.

Dick married Mary V. Navin (House) in 1990. He was the beloved brother of Paul Navin and his wife, Clare, and Mary Jane Elliott, whose husband, Gary, is deceased. He was preceded in death by his brother, Patrick.

He was a devoted stepfather to Kristin, Philip, and Katherine House; grandfather to Anthony, Sean, and Ainsley; and great-grandfather to Ariana. Dick is survived by his wife, Mary; his brother, Paul; his sister, Mary Jane; his children; his grandchildren; his great-granddaughter; and his nieces and nephews: Bethany and Ben and their families from Paul’s family; Greg, Kristen, and Katie and their families from Mary Jane’s family; and JP and Maggie from Patrick’s family.

Services will be held on August 7, 2026, at Fort Logan National Cemetery, located at 3698 South Sheridan Boulevard in Denver, Colorado. The procession will begin at 12:00 p.m., with services beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Dick will be remembered for his dedication to family, his pride in service, and the steady commitment he brought to every chapter of his life.
