Richard H. Glasman

RICHARD H. GLASMAN, 84, passed away on April 16, 2015 from complications related to Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM). Preceded in death by the love of his life, Rita Rose Glasman and sister Margaret Walker. He is survived by his two brothers Joe (Joanne) and Jack (Janie), sons Joey and Tommy (Nadine), grandchildren Allison and Jake, and numerous nieces and nephews. Richard was born in Billings, MT on December 1, 1930. Richard served in the U.S. Air Force in 1951 and 1952 during the Korean War. He received a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa and a law degree from the University of Denver (1956). He practiced law in Denver for over 45 years, most recently with the firm Glasman, Jaynes & McBride. Richard (""Waxy"") loved watching sports, meeting new friends on Facebook, and spending time with his sons and grandchildren. After the loss of his wife Rita, he moved to Sherwood Assisted Living in Odessa, TX to be closer to his grandchildren. He quickly became a two term President of the Resident Council at Sherwood. Diagnosed with Inclusion Body Myositis in 2002, he tirelessly promoted awareness of the muscle disease to anyone who would listen. He was very active with The Myositis Association based in Virginia and was an active support group leader in Denver and Odessa, as well as online providing guidance and support to those recently diagnosed. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, April 24, 2015, 10 am, Risen Christ Catholic Parish, 3060 S. Monaco Pkwy., Denver.
