Denver, Colorado

Richard Earl Campbell, affectionately know as Rick, peacefully departed at the age of 71.  Born on June 3, 1952, in Jamaica, Queens, New York, and passed into eternity on January 3, 2024, in Denver Colorado.  His legacy lives on through his devoted wife Susan, cherished, son Richard Jr. ( Paulita,) beloved daughter Katrina, cherished sisters Brenda and Georgette, and adored grandchildren Jaimee, Caden, Darius, and Nia.

Rick's journey included fifteen years of dedicated service in the Air Force, stationed at various locations, such as South Korea, Eglin Air Force Base, Chanute Air Force Base, Dover Air Force Base, and finally, Lowry Air Force Base in Colorado. In 1992, destiny brought Rick and Susan together, leading to their marriage in 1999. His professional path continued for six years as a supervisor at Exabyte Corporation in Boulder, Colorado; followed by achievement of a bachelor's degree in computer science from Regis University. Rick embraced a new passion, becoming a skilled pilot,  enjoying countless hours in the skies with his Cessna 170 airplane.

Beyond aviation, he found joy in travel alongside Susan, attending plays, and savoring numerous concerts, with a special fondness for the Temptations. A dedicated fan of Muhammad Ali, Rick never missed one of his legendary fights. He also found joy in his sleek black Chrysler 300 adorned with stylish rims. He loved to cook and never let a holiday go by without making his famous ham.

Rick's magnetic personality, coupled with a remarkable sense of humor, had the power to brighten any room. His compassion shone through in his loving care for Jean Corrigan, Susan's mother, during her final years. In his strength, evident even in his last days, Rick leaves a void that will be deeply felt by the many hearts he touched.
