Richard "Art" Cordova

Art, 82, was born in Rocky Ford, Colorado to Jake & Marjorie Cordova. He passed away peacefully surrounded by those he adored in Littleton, Colorado.

Art graduated from Englewood High School and attended Adams State College in Alamosa. He also attended Lamont School of Music – University of Denver. He worked as a Pipeline Mechanic at Denver Water until his retirement in 2003.

On August 28, 1971, he married his sweetheart, Isabelle, who entered everlasting life December 7, 2014.

Art was a devoted father to Mary “Gerry” Vargas, Rich Cordova (1963-2016), Robyn Roman (Robert), and Bianca Cordova.

Grandfather to eight amazing grandsons, Thomas Vargas (Natalie), Richie Cordova (Jessica), Devin Lopez, Dean Chavez (Danielle), Monaco Lopez (Aspen), Darien Chavez, Zach Chavez, and Gannon Roman. Great Grandfather to seven beautiful souls, Audra, Lauren, Olivia, Emmett, Ezekiel, Jace and Sophia (expected in January 2024). Art was also Godfather to fourteen.

He loved, provided for, and fiercely protected his wife, children, and grandchildren.

He was an avid hunter and angler, who brought his passion for the outdoors into the lives of others (Lovingly nicknamed “Party Chief”).

He is survived by his three daughters, eight grandsons, seven great-grandchildren, his brother, Jake, sister and husband Anita and Dan Gevara; his brother-in-law Orlando Nieto; and countless nieces and nephews.

The Recitation of the Rosary will be held Tuesday, December 19^th, at 10:30 AM with the Funeral Mass to immediately follow, both at Light of The World Roman Catholic Church, 10306 W. Bowles Ave, Littleton, CO 80127. Family and friends are welcome at a reception in the parish hall following the service.
