Reynolee E. Roob

October 27, 1929 — March 2, 2020

Reynolee E. Roob passed away peacefully March 2nd. Ren, as her friends and family called her, was born in Wisconsin in 1929.

She was a proud graduate of the University of Wisconsin, and began her teaching career in Bloomer, WI and continued it in Colorado at Denver South High School and Denver West High School. Throughout her career, she primarily taught social studies and briefly served as a school counselor, making a difference in her students' lives.

Ren had a special love for her home state of Wisconsin but was drawn to Colorado because of her love of the mountains and the fact that some of her ancestors, too, had moved to Colorado generations before.

In addition to her home in Denver, she acquired land on Mt. Lincoln, Placer Valley, and built a mountain cabin on it. She was also an avid traveler and traveled the world during her school breaks. She and Caroline Lowsma, her friend and travel companion, who was like a sister, were also involved in the accreditation of camps with the American Camping Association.

Of all creatures, great and small, Ren was an amazing dog lover, especially cocker spaniels, of which she had many and, in later years, fostered many more four-legged friends.

After retirement, she volunteered at the Denver Historical Society, where she taught classes in a historical classroom, continued to travel, and became interested in genealogy.

She was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Elizabeth Roob, and her brother John Roob.

She is survived by her niece Elizabeth Roob Ireland (Barney), her nephew Andrew Roob (Terese), great-niece Elisabeth Patch (Trevor) and great-nephew Christopher.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 4-6pm at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 1091 S. Colorado Boulevard, Denver. A Rosary will follow at 6pm.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 17, 10am at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.

Guests are required to wear masks.

Donations may be made in Ren’s honor to the Denver Dumb Friends League ddfl.org
