Rebecca Pepper English Kennedy died at home on June 11, 2026. Born on April 18, 1952, she was the eldest daughter of Edwin Holt English and Rebecca Ashton Goss. She is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca Ashton Kennedy de Lorenzini (Stefano) of Pebble Beach, CA, and Margaret Shippen Kennedy Scully (Ryan) of Littleton, CO; and by her four beloved grandchildren: Eva Scully, Cora Scully, Maria Lorenzini, and Sofia Lorenzini. She is also survived by her sisters: Anne Miller of Indian Harbour Beach, FL, Mary Worth (Richard) of West Chester, PA, and Daphne Korner of Brookville, IN. She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Goss.

Rebecca was a graduate of the Agnes Irwin School class of 1970 and Wells College class of 1974, where she formed enduring friendships that remained a meaningful part of her life. She married Daniel Owen Kennedy in 1979, with whom she had their two daughters. Her greatest devotion was to family. She had a long career as a claims and litigation specialist and most recently worked for the State of Colorado. She enjoyed residing in multiple states, including Pennsylvania, Maryland, Texas, Utah, and Colorado, and found beauty in all of those places. She loved being outdoors, especially in the mountains or by the sea. She enjoyed hiking, skiing, camping, biking, knitting, and square dancing. She was happiest with her grandchildren; they shared endless joy together.

She was incredibly generous, bighearted, vibrant, energetic, and was driven by service. She volunteered in many different spaces including schools, churches, and local community organizations. She tirelessly gave of herself to better the lives of those around her.
