Raymond Michael Stewart

Raymond Michael Stewart was born at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado on September 29, 1924 to Raymond Watson Stewart and Anna Frances (Connell) Stewart. He died on January 23, 2011 at Porter Hospice in Centennial, Colorado.

He graduated from Regis High School in Denver, Colorado in 1942, and served as a pharmacist mate in the United States Navy during World War II. A graduate of Colorado School of Mines in 1950, he worked as an engineer in the mines in Butte, Montana and Climax, Colorado until 1961, at which time he became employed by Martin Marietta. He worked on the Titan Missile Project at Martin Marietta, retiring after twenty-five years in 1986.

He was pre-deceased by wives Irene Stewart and Margaret Stewart. He is survived by Margaret’s children Terry (Patty) Kanies, Peggy (Rod) Vernon, and Jim (Tammy) Kanies, and their children and grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, January 28, 2011 at Horan and McConaty Family Chapel, 5303 East County Line Road, Centennial. Interment will be 10:15 AM Monday, January 31, 2011, at Ft. Logan National Cemetery, Staging Area “C”. Please share memories and condolences at HoranCares.com.
