Obituary

Raymond Craig Stark, 79, died peacefully at home Sunday, September 13, 2026. He was born October 12, 1946 in Casper, Wyoming to Robert and Edna Stark. His spent his middle school years in Pakistan and high school years in Thailand where his father worked for the State Department as an electrical engineer constructing hydro-electric dams. Ray served in the US Army from 1966 to 1969, including two tours of duty in Vietnam.

Ray loved helping people and was an engineer with the Aurora Fire Department, having retired in 2007 after 26 years of service. He also served on the Loveland Ski Patrol as a volunteer for over ten years. His love of the outdoors fueled his passion for hunting, snow skiing, water skiing, boating and golf.

Ray is survived by his wife of 53 years, Sharon; his brother Don (Sandy) and sister Pat Halpern of Volcano, Hawaii; as well as nieces Kelly Card, Kerri Catel and Lori Christensen, and nephews Casey Halpern, Joel Halpern and Raven Smith.

A celebration of life service will take place Thursday, September 24, at 2 pm at Horan & McConaty, 11150 E. Dartmouth Ave., Aurora.
