Ralph T. Adamson: November 21,1934 – January 17, 2026.

Ralph was born in Detroit, Michigan to Jessie & Ralph Adamson, Sr. His family moved to Alhambra, CA when he was very young. His father died when he was 12 which made a huge impact on Ralph and his mother, who had to find a job. During WW II Ralph collected scrap metal to aid in the war effort. He was a Boy Scout and became an Eagle Scout.

He had wonderful memories of visiting his cousins, Katherine and Jim Leonard, in Virginia City. His mother’s family, James & Jessie Hobart Leonard (yes 2 Jessie’s) owned the Virginia City Water Company from the mid 30’s until 1959. He enjoyed “walking the flumes” around Marlette Lake, also part of the Water Company, to help his Uncle Hobart maintain them. It is now a walking/biking area called the “Flume Trail”. He enjoyed talking Water Company history with his cousins.

Ralph was a long-time insurance agent. He spent many years with Aetna Life & Casualty, first in El Paso and then moving his young family to Denver where he was a General Agent. He later changed to State Farm in 1978 and retired as an Independent Agent in January, 2000. He and Betty divorced in the mid-80’s and he then met Brenda, whom he called his “lifetime love story” at Grace United Methodist Church. They were married there in May, 1991.

Ralph’s children are: Ralph Adamson, III, of El Paso; Diane Scott of Elizabeth, CO, and Krysteigh Masters of Weatherford, TX. He was stepdad to Dillon Beck, Denver and Collin Beck of Aurora. He is survived by 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, the youngest of whom is 2 mos.

Ralph loved (and not in any particular order!): Coffee, popcorn, grilling, his A.M. “jossles” as he called his walking exercise, anything financial from reading the Wall Street Journal to watching “Bloomberg” on TV; his long political discussions with Darcy, his friend of 50+ years; Rams Horn Resort in Estes Park; the movie “The Shootist”; spending time with granddaughter Kalyssa chasing geese around the pond at Heather Gardens, delivering Xmas cookies and driving us through H.G. to view the Xmas lights.

His ashes are at Ft. Logan – he was in the army shortly after the Korean war ended so he could get the G.I. college benefits to attend and graduate from what is now called UTEP.
