The Story of Rae Faas: We feel very blessed to share the story of Rae Faas. Over the course of her life she accomplished a great many things, but first let's go back to Newark, New Jersey in 1926. On October 3rd of that year Rae was born to Mary & Saverio Allocca. She was the third of four siblings and even as a child her zest for life and adventure was evident. One of Rae's first challenges in life was when she contracted Polio. However it was clear then to her parents, sisters and brother that Rae was someone who had a fierce determination to live and went on to successfully beat the disease. As a young adult, ready to make an impact, Rae left New Jersey and made her way west. There she met and fell in love with a handsome merchant marine named George. They married in 1943 and later welcomed a son who they affectionately called ""Trouble""; but his real name is George Jr.. Rae & George Sr.'s life together was built upon love, family and adventure, all of which took them from California to Seattle and back to her native New Jersey where they started and ran a successful business together. After many wonderful years in Watchung, NJ they sold their business and took on a new adventure: retirement. A move to Florida offered the next chapter for Rae. She and George spent many years together enjoying Florida, spending time with their Grandson George III and entertaining friends and family alike. However, even with such a full and rewarding life, Rae soon found herself ready for a challenge and found herself with a new career managing boutiques and shops in central Florida. After 57 wonderful years of marriage, George Sr. passed away and shortly thereafter Rae moved to Colorado to be closer to her children. Her adventurous spirit allowed her to establish a new life in the Denver area. Although in a new city she remained very active- she kept a close eye on her stocks, watched many of her favorite movies and teaching her new friends Rummikub â a game she has always enjoyed playing. Rae is survived by her son George Jr., daughter-in-law Terry, grandson George III, granddaughter-in-law Sherry, great-grandson Kieran, great-granddaughter Kate, Sister Gloria, brother-in-law John and many nieces and nephews.
