Ralph James “Jim” Hicok, 85, passed away July 25th, 2023 in Englewood, Colorado. Jim bravely battled cancer for over thirteen years, exceeding expectations, and Alzheimer’s disease for seven years.

Jim was born and raised in New Jersey. He joined the Navy in 1956 and spent several years traveling and passionately working on engines. After leaving the Navy, he traveled across the country from Illinois, to Missouri, ultimately settling in Colorado. He worked at Coors brewery for several years, where he met his wife, Julie. They happily lived in the mountains, maintaining their land and enjoying the fresh air.

Jim enjoyed working on all things mechanical and was a go-to for questions and help fixing any and every car. Filled with kindness and compassion, Jim was friends with everyone and always had a dad joke to spare. In addition, he was a passionate family man, never missing a basketball game, band concert, or opportunity to have breakfast food. He firmly believed that being a prepared adult was something everyone needed, regardless of their gender.

He is survived by his wife Julie, three children Cait, Sam, and Beth, daughter-in-law Kayla, and son-in-law James Hollis, Sr.  He had five grandchildren Frederick, Henry, Nicole (Brian), Chase (Chelsea), and James Jr. (Madison). He also had eight great-grandchildren Chaz, Chance, Allyssa, Taylor, Brayden, Brantley, Cheyenne, and Melody. He is also survived by his sister Mary Tardive, brother Tom Hicok, several nieces and nephews, and other extended family.

He will be buried with honors at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado.
