Pierce (lux) Irvine Blazek

Pierce (lux) Irvine Blazek, 22 years old, passed away on April 28th, 2025 in Arvada, CO.

Pierce was born on October 25, 2002, in Des Moines, lowa, to Steve and Jeannie Blazek.

Pierce began his education at Jordan Greek Elementary in West Des Moines and attended Stillwell Jr High. Midway through middle school, Pierce moved with his family to Arvada, Colorado, where he continued his studies at North Arvada Middle School and later Ralston Valley High school. At Ralston Valley, Pierce was a passionate and accomplished student, earning membership in the National Honor Society and achieving varsity letters in orchestra, choir, and academics.

After high school, Pierce moved to Portland, Oregon, to attend Lewis & Clark College, where he was awarded the Presidential Scholarship for his academic excellence. He pursued a double major in Psychology and Art History. Pierce was set to graduate in the spring of 2025.

He was deeply admired by both his professors and peers for his intellect, creativity, and authenticity.

Pierce was a beautiful, brilliant, and gifted soul with a boundless heart. From a young age, he was drawn to creativity in all its forms - expressing himself through music, acting, drawing, painting, and sculpture. Art was not just a hobby but an essential part of who he was. Under the name Lux, poured their emotions and experiences into music and performed at musical events across the country. Lux's second EP, a collection of songs close to their heart, will be released by their friends later this spring.

Beyond the arts, Pierce found joy and freedom in the mountains. He was a talented and daring skier who embraced the challenge of difficult terrain.

Pierce is survived by his parents Steve and Jeannie Blazek of Arvada, CO, his older brother Beau Blazek of Las Vegas, NV, his grandparents Rosie and Gary Irvine of Boone, IA, and his fur babies Daisy and Duke.
