Phyllis was born in Paisley, Scotland, to John and Phyllis McConologue, late of Derry, Ireland. After spending her early years in Scotland and England, the family emigrated to the United States in 1960, when she was 15. They settled in Chicago. After completing high school and business school in Chicago, she worked in various capacities in the city. The family relocated to Denver, where Phyllis served in several administrative positions in the oil and gas industry, including at Amoco. She expanded into facilities management there and with other firms. She served as assistant manager for facilities for Avaya in Westminster. She then worked for Global Crossing for several years, becoming a manager responsible for the telecommunications firm's operations in Canada and the United Kingdom. She retired in 2010. Phyllis married Richard Chuman on Nov. 11, 1978, and they enjoyed 38 years of marriage together. She is survived by her husband Richard, mother Phyllis of Winnetka, California; brothers John of Woodland Hills, California, Kevin of Colorado Springs, and Brian and Ken of Denver. She is also survived by stepchildren Rucey of Seattle, Waswhington, and Cole of Casper, Wyoming, and grandchildren Madeline, Emily and Kyle. She was preceded in death by her father, John, and brother Danny. Phyllis was known for her generous spirit, lively sense of humor, love of family, loyal friendships, intelligence and her professional accomplishments. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
