Phillip Ray Penaflor, a remarkable soul who brought warmth and joy to everyone around him, left us too soon on April 25, 2025, at the age of 41. Born on May 28, 1983, in Greeley, Colorado, Phillip spent his life spreading love and laughter, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew him.
Living in Thornton, Colorado, Phillip was a devoted husband to Sonya, with whom he had just celebrated 17 wonderful years of marriage. Their love was a testament to the power of partnership and devotion. Phillip was also an incredible father to his children, Taryn, Trevon, Xzavier, PJ. His kids were his world, and he worked tirelessly to ensure their happiness and success.
Professionally, Phillip was a Construction Superintendent at Waner Construction Company, where he was known for his hard work, dedication, and multi-talented approach to his craft. His colleagues remember him not only for his skills but also for his ability to make work a little brighter with his infectious smile and hearty laughter.
Phillip's personality was larger than life. He was the life of the party, always ready with a joke or a story to lift the spirits of those around him. His presence was magnetic, and his ability to make others smile was truly a gift. Phillip is survived by a loving family who will forever cherish his memory: his wife Sonya: children Taryn, Trevon, Xzavier, PJ, DeAngelo and Alexzandria: his parents Judy Casco and Joseph Penaflor and step-mother Mary Penaflor, his siblings Shannon (Jason) Brown, Christian (Jazmin) Bautista, Adriana Hernandez, and Natalie Garcia and step-sisters Tawnee Torres and Gina Martinez and many nieces and nephews. Each of them carries a piece of Phillip's love and spirit with them.
