Pete Schroder

Lavern “Pete” Merrill Schroder was born on November 23, 1936 to Dorothy (Bell) and Glen Schroder on the family farm in Huntley Nebraska.  He was the second youngest of six children.  He truly loved to farm with his dad and brothers and he attended Huntley Schools until his graduation in 1955.  After his graduation he went to the University of Nebraska to study business and then proceeded to Join the army in 1957.  He was a battery clerk and stationed in Olympia Washington.  In 1960 he was honorably discharged, and after many adventures with his brother he landed in Denver.  In 1965 he met the love of his life, Marcia Kaye Herrmann and they were wed on October 13th, 1968.  They had their son Devin Glen in 1970, and during a night of driving around a collicky baby they found the lot they would build their home on in Arvada.  In 1973 they had their daughter Stacia Lucille and then much to their surprise in 1981 Brenda Eileen was born. Pete loved to cheer on his kids and spend time with his family.  He made every soccer game and school event he could.  He made his career working as a technician for the phone company and National Western Stock Show.  His family was always growing, as the years passed he was blessed with three children in law, Monique (Devin), Lincoln (Stacia) and Jason (Brenda).  He was also blessed with 8 grandchildren, Lauryn, Allison, Catherine, Kevin, Alexander, Justyn, Jackson and Elijah.  Also as the years passed their open door blessed them with many bonus children and later grandchildren.  Their home was always filled with love and open to anyone that needed to be there.

He was preceded in death by his parents Glen and Dorothy, His sister Janet and husband Sam Kerr, his brother Dewitt, his brother Gailard and wife Joan, his sister Eileen and husband Wilbur Gewecke, his brother Lawayne, his brother-in-law, Robert, his daughter-in-law Monique, 2 nephews, one great nephew, and his beloved bulldog, Mortimer.

He is survived by his Wife Marcia, his son Devin, his daughter Stacia (Lincoln), his daughter Brenda (Jason), 8 grandchildren, Lauryn, Allison, Catherine, Kevin, Alexander, Justyn, Jackson and Elijah. Sisters-in-law Vearl, Lois and Edie.  Many bonus kids, grandkids and great grandkids, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 12, 2022 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm at Horan & McConaty, 7577 W. 80th Ave. Arvada, CO 80003. The Funeral Service will take place the following day, Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 10:30am at Arvada United Methodist Church, 6750 Carr St. Arvada, CO 80004 with burial at 12:00pm in Arvada Cemetery.
