It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Pete Moutzouris (November 15, 1947-July 27, 2026) at the age of 79.

Pete is survived by his two sons John (Jackie) Moutzouris, Ted (Fotini) Moutzouris. His five grandchildren; Penelope, Zoe, Mila, Panagiotis and Leonidas. His sister Pota Booras in Denver and his brother Konstantinos (Georgia) Moutzouris in Greece. His two nieces Vicky (John) Venette, Chrissa (Antonio) Sarlo in Denver, his niece Chrissa Moutzouris in Greece and his nephew Yianni (Katerina) Moutzouris in Greece.

Family and friends are invited to Funeral Service to be held on Friday, July 31, 2026 at 10 AM at the Assumption of the Theotokos Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 4600 E. Alameda Avenue., Denver, Colorado followed by interment at Fairmount Cemetery . In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Cathedral.

Born in Finikounda, Messinia, Greece, Pete carried with him throughout his life the enduring values of his homeland—deep faith, devotion to family, humility, hospitality, and an unwavering work ethic. After immigrating to the United States, he embraced every opportunity to build a better life through perseverance, determination, and God’s grace.

A devoted Greek Orthodox Christian, Pete’s life was firmly rooted in his faith. He faithfully embraced the traditions of the Holy Orthodox Church and sought to live each day with humility, kindness, and compassion. Those who knew him witnessed a man whose quiet strength, integrity, and generosity reflected his love for God and for others.

For more than 40 years, Pete was the proud owner of Pete’s Fruits & Vegetables, where he became much more than a businessman—he became a trusted friend, mentor, and neighbor to generations of families. Through honest work, genuine kindness, and unwavering dedication, he built a business that became a cornerstone of the community. Customers returned year after year not only for the freshest fruits, vegetables, flowers, and seasonal traditions, but for the warm smile, heartfelt conversations, and sincere care that made everyone feel like family.

Pete was a true entrepreneur whose work ethic was second to none. He believed every blessing should be earned through perseverance, every customer should be treated with dignity and respect, and every opportunity should be met with gratitude. His legacy is measured not only by the business he built, but by the countless lives he touched through quiet acts of generosity, encouragement, mentorship, and compassion. He was truly a pillar of the community.

Above all, Pete’s greatest blessing was his family. He was a loving father, devoted father-in-law, cherished grandfather, beloved brother, uncle, and loyal friend. He led by example, teaching those around him the enduring values of faith, honesty, humility, integrity, and hard work. His wisdom, gentle spirit, unwavering love, and steadfast example will continue to guide his family for generations to come.

His family will forever cherish his memory and strive to honor the values by which he lived.
