Persis E. Fraser

Persis E. Fraser, 92, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2025, at Mountain Vista Senior Living in Colorado. She is survived by her five children: Scott Fraser, Kent Fraser, Eric Fraser (Melissa), Lori-Heather Fraser and Bonnie Pino Fraser (Christie). She is also survived by three grandchildren: Danny Fraser, Christopher Fraser (Heather) and Abby Fraser as well as two great grandchildren: Samuel Fraser and Iris Fraser.

Over the course of her life, Persis made her home in MA, NH, FL, VT and CO, becoming an active part of the community and forming meaningful connections wherever she went. While for many years she dedicated herself as a homemaker, in the late 70’s/early 80's Persis found a calling working with seniors. She worked in several nursing homes as an Activities Director, bringing joy and enrichment to countless lives with her personality and her crafts. She later became a home health care giver, a role in which she served tirelessly until she was 78 when she finally retired, all while raising an adopted grandchild.

Persis had a strong belief in God and her savior Jesus Christ, which served as an anchor and guiding light throughout her life. When she lived in Florida she was a member of Indian Rocks Baptist Church. When she eventually moved back to VT she was an active member of Christ Memorial Church in Williston, where she worshipped and served enthusiastically for over 20 years. In her later years in Colorado, she found a warm and supportive community at Grace Church of Aurora.

In 2019, Persis moved to Colorado to live with her daughter Bonnie and partner, Christie. After her diagnosis with Alzheimer’s, she spent three years in their loving care before moving to Mountain Vista Senior Living. There, she made many new friends and continued to enjoy her favorite pastimes through the facility’s activity programs.

Persis had a creative spirit and a love for simple joys. She delighted in arts and crafts, baking, and sewing. Her handmade Halloween costumes became treasured memories, and her pies were legendary among family and friends. Persis was well known for her sweetness…in her personality and her food tastes. She had a love of lobster, ice cream and all manner of sweets!

A memorial service will be held on June 28, 2025 at Grace Church of Aurora at 1pm. Refreshments will follow. In honor of Persis’ love for spring, guests are encouraged to wear cheerful spring colors.

In lieu of flowers please send donations to either Alzheimer’s organization (https://www.alz.org/) or to Compassus Living Foundation (Hospice). https://compassuslivingfoundation.org/give/ - two organizations that offered invaluable support and care to Persis and her loved ones.
