Peggy Marea Newman

Peggy Marea Newman passed away peacefully September 28th, 2026 at her home in Denver, CO. Born March 5th, 1952 in Longmont, CO, she was the daughter of Bernard and Myrtle Newman, and the stepdaughter of Frank Cardona.

Peggy grew up in Mead and graduated from Longmont High School before moving to Denver and completing her nursing degree. She was a registered nurse at Humana Hospital Aurora until 1991, when she transitioned into information systems at the hospital, where she continued until her retirement in 2022.

Peggy’s greatest joys were family, friends, music, theater, travel, and her beloved Denver Broncos. She also dedicated countless hours helping and advocating for all members of her community through extensive volunteer work and her long-time church, Mountain View.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Marv Keckhut, children Jesse, Emily, and Rhonda, grandchildren Emmah, Amelia, Luke, and Monroe, and siblings Judi and Paul. She is also survived by dozens of other loved ones in the Keckhut, Newman, and Rosser sides of her blended family that she embraced so much.

A private family service was held Sunday, October 4th at Horan and McConaty in Aurora and an open and public celebration of life service will be held at Mountain View United Church (10700 E Evans Ave, Aurora, CO 80014) on Saturday, November 14th at 1pm.
