Paula Jean Pollart

Paula Jean Pollart, 75, beloved mother and wife, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2025 surrounded by her loving family in Castle Rock, Colorado. Paula dedicated her life to bringing joy and happiness to her husband of 57 years, Jerry, her three children, and two grandchildren.

Paula was born on January 23, 1950 in Hays, Kansas to her parents, Florine and Gordon Pekarek. Paula married her high school sweetheart, Jerry, in Holly, Colorado in 1968, and eventually settled in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Paula graduated from Kearney State College in Kearney, NE and with Jerry, successfully owned and operated Heartland Ag in Grand Island. Following their retirement, Paula and Jerry relocated to Castle Rock, Colorado.

Paula believed in the power of literacy, education, hard work, compassion, and a clean house. Being a grandmother to Augustus and Theodore, Nana as she was called, was one of Paula’s greatest joys. As an avid reader, she instilled in her children and grandchildren a love of reading, history, and education. Paula brought those passions together and often volunteered in her Castle Rock community as a classroom Nana and at the school library. She also was an active board member and volunteer for the Women’s Crisis Center during her years living in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Survivors include her husband, Jerry; daughter Pamela Pollart of Denver, Colorado, son Eric Pollart (Martha) of Denver, Colorado, daughter Samantha Pelster (Nick, Augustus and Theodore), of Castle Rock, Colorado, and brother John Pekarek (Ann) of Atlanta, Georgia. She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Kay Casner.

A Celebration of Life is planned on September 27th 1-3pm at Horan & McConaty, Centennial location
