Paul Franklin Irey, 73, of Arvada, Colorado, beloved husband, father and grandfather, passed away April 4, 2018. He was born June 22, 1944 in Denver, Colorado to Paul F. and Kathleen Evenson Irey. Paul grew up in the Denver area and later joined the Armed forces during the Vietnam war, serving in Germany as a missile tech. After an honorable discharge he eventually settled on a career in engineering working for Coors in the tool and die division. He married Edith Sanchez in 1971. They purchased a home in Arvada and had two daughters, Jody and Cyndi. After delving into investment properties, he obtained his real estate license and after years as an agent and investor, began managing investment properties for others. Paul loved to travel and took many trips with his wife and daughters and their families. He loved to go on cruises and on his final cruise last October, he got to sail through the Panama Canal. He was an avid bird watcher, spending many of his vacations seeking out new and exotic birds as well as locally in Colorado. Paul was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions of service and leadership. He devoted a great deal of time to serving those around him and was always helping those in need. Paul is survived by his wife, Edith Delores Sanchez Irey; daughters, Jody Beckstead and Cyndi Suckow (husband, James); four grandsons, Noah, Ethan and Gabriel Beckstead, and Joseph Suckow. A viewing will be held on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Horan & McConaty Family Chapel, 7577 W 80th Ave, Arvada, CO 80003. The Funeral Service for Paul will be held on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 11:00am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 7080 Independence Street, Arvada, CO 80004. Burial will be at Crown Hill Cemetery, 7777 W 29th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033
