Paul Russell Greenfield

Paul Russell Greenfield was born in Hastings, Nebraska, on October 22, 1945, to the late Orville R. Greenfield and the late Gladys Williams. He spent his early years in Nebraska, graduating from Hastings high school, and going on to Kansas State Teachers College, where he received a BA degree in Education and then receiving a Masters in School Administration from the University of Northern Colorado. It was at Kansas State Teachers College that he met the love of his life: Jeanne Marie Lawrence. They married on August 10, 1968, and moved to Lakewood, Colorado. Paul was recruited by Jefferson County Schools where he spent 29 years as a teacher, coach and administrator. He retired from the school district as an assistant principal at Deer Creek Middle School in June of 1997. Paul has joined the Lord with the late Suzanne Greenfield Kirkendall, the older sister he adored. He was so proud of his kids, Becky and Jason. His passion was being a grandpa to Avery, Ian, Kyla and Torin. He was grateful for the wonderful spouses of his children, Seth Cole and Melissa Huber Greenfield. Paul will be remembered and celebrated as a man of faith, family, love and laughter. His family always referred to Paul as ""the man who never met a stranger."" His ability to befriend and converse with all people was his most inspiring characteristic. A small talk with Paul would often turn into a lasting friendship. He was passionate about his faith and took great pride in his fellowship with God, and his unwavering servitude to his Church family. Paul could often be found on Wednesday nights, celebrating the Lord through his cooking with Kid's Club or roaming the halls of the church on Sunday, laughing and chatting with his friends. Paul was active in so many lives and will always be remembered for his random acts of kindness. When Paul was not out serving his family or the community, he could be found on the links with his golf clubs, or on the water, fishing, or cheering on his beloved Huskers. He and Jeanne loved traveling to their home in Summit County or around the globe with their countless friends and family members. Paul relished leading his grandkids through as many childhood experiences as possible. Paul is survived by Jeanne, his wife of 46 years; daughter, Rebecca (son-in-law Seth Cole); son, Jason (daughter-in-law Melissa); and grandchildren, Avery Cole, Ian Cole, Kyla Greenfield and Torin Greenfield. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established with Bear Creek Presbyterian Church, 3101 S. Kipling Street, Lakewood, Colorado 80227.
