Paul Quentin Beacom

October 1, 1931 — May 9, 2026

Westminster

Paul Quentin Beacom entered into eternal life after a short illness on May 9, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born in Waterbury, Nebraska on October 1, 1931 to Paul R. and Kathline (Daley) Beacom.

Paul was industrious even as a child working on family farms where he enjoyed having his own horse. He also had his own newspaper route and worked at the local brewery.

Paul was an original Heelan High School Crusader in Sioux City Iowa as he was Bishop Heelan’s 1st graduate, midterm 1949. Paul went on to enlist in the United States Air Force in 1950 and spent a majority of his service at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska, where he served until 1953. He worked at Alaska Airlines in his off time to save money and purchase a car.

Paul attended Wayne State College in Nebraska, where he met Diane Kay Towers. They married on May 28, 1955 in South Sioux City, Nebraska. They settled in Denver, Colorado, where Paul attended Regis University and earned a Business degree in 1957. He then attended Denver University Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctorate in September of 1960. In November of 1961 Paul became the youngest member of Westminster City Council at the age of thirty and served until 1965. Paul was a proud founding member of the Westminster Elks Club Lodge and served as Exalted Ruler from 1964-1965 and as a Trustee thereafter.

Paul’s legal career included a successful private practice and served terms as the Adams County District Attorney and the Adams County Attorney. He was also appointed by Governor Roy Romer to serve on the 17th Judicial District Nominating Committee from 1994 to 1995.

Paul loved to travel. Each of his children were blessed to take many trips with him. Ireland was his all-time favorite, along with cruises, Las Vegas, and many trips to Puerto Vallarta. Each of these trips always included happy hour, where Beefeater martinis were enjoyed by all and if there were blue cheese-stuffed olives available, that was a bonus! Paul was also a big fan of the Denver Broncos, Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Colorado Rockies (when they were playing well). He was an original Denver Bronco ticket holder since their inception in 1960 and managed to attend some of their Super Bowls, as well as Notre Dame’s Bowl appearances.

One of Paul’s other ambitions was to build. With the help of his dear friend and talented construction foreman, Dale Salamanca, they collaborated to build the Mission Hill Shopette at 80th and Federal, as well as a beautiful home for his large family in Westminster. Other ventures included building vacation homes in Silverthorne, Colorado and Summerlin, Las Vegas.

The greatest joys of his life were his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He especially loved holidays because his house was the favorite spot where everyone gathered for the party.

He is survived by his children Greg (Deb) Beacom, Terri (Rod) Nowadzky, Lisa Laff, Paul R. (Debbie) Beacom, Patrick Beacom, and Brenda Beacom. Grandchildren, Allison Nowadzky, Elizabeth (Sean) Gill, Danielle (Augdon) Greening, Emily Laff, David Laff, Sinead Beacom, and Rory Beacom. Great grandchildren, Everett Gill, Oliver Gill and Ashton Gill, Weston Greening, Stetson Greening and many nieces and nephews.

He is pre-deceased by his wife Diane, parents and siblings, Mary (Frank) Kneifl, Joanne (Blaine) Boyens, Richard, Gerald, Veronica (Jerry) Frost and son-in-law, Alan Laff.

A special thank you to all of his kind and loving neighbors who were always there to lend a hand or a ride when needed.

Anyone wishing to make a donation in Paul’s memory can be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital or The Denver Hospice.
