Patrick Wynn Zimmerman

July 8, 1950 — May 31, 2024

Patrick Wynn Zimmerman, aged 73 years of Henderson, Colorado, died on Friday, the 31st of May, 2024, at the Denver Hospice Center. He was surrounded by his wife and family members.

Pat was born July 8, 1950, in Denver, Colorado. He attended Francis M. Day elementary and graduated from Westminster High School in 1968. He then became an apprentice in his fathers’ construction company. Years later he started his own construction and remodeling company. He loved and was skilled in woodworking and found great pride in making homes a brighter, and more beautiful place to live.

Pat loved taking his family and grandchildren to Disney World, and they went many times and made great memories together. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he was one of Walt Disney’s greatest fans.

He loved growing flowers in his yard, which took up many satisfying hours. He would take photos of them and proudly send them to his family.

He was a favorite person in his neighborhood. He was often seen bringing candy and treats to all of the children. He was fondly called “Mr. Pat” by the neighborhood. He loved watching them come to the door on Halloween. They had no idea how he anticipated their knock on the door.

Pat played men’s fast-pitch softball. He played first base and made lifelong friends from his team.

He loved music and listened continuously. He walked around the house humming to a favorite tune. He especially loved The Beatles and Jimmy Buffet. He was a kindred spirit to Jimmy and he loved the sun and beaches. When he had a chance, he would make plans to visit a warm destination. He was always on island life in his mind. Always in the sun with his feet in the water.

Patrick is preceded in death by his mother, Guyola Zimmerman; brothers, Daniel, Douglas and Guy Zimmerman; his brother-in-law, Patrick Jennings; and nephew, Josh Zimmerman.

He is survived by his father, Orville Zimmerman and his wife of 30 years, Betty.

He is also survived by his children; Ryan Zimmerman of Frederick, CO, Kristyn Willis of Aurora, CO, Shane (Brandy) Zimmerman of Denver, CO, Denae (Lou) Pacenta of Littleton, CO; two stepdaughters, Sandy (Bill) Hinman of Dacono, CO, and Amy Molinaro-Uribe of Colorado Springs, CO.

He is also survived by three uncles, two aunts, twelve grandchildren, six great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
