Patrick Robert Lynch

Patrick Robert Lynch passed away on October 12, 2025, surrounded by his immediate family, after a four-year battle with cancer. Born in Logan, Ohio, to Mary Laura Innis and Donald Robert Lynch, Patrick spent his early years in Columbus, where his love for baseball took root. He often fondly recalled playing league ball and squaring off against cross-state rival Pete Rose—a story he loved to share.

At age 17, Patrick moved with his parents to Atlanta, Georgia, where he graduated from Avondale High School. In 1961, he began a remarkable 47-year career at Lockheed, contributing to aeronautical advancements until his retirement in 2008. It was there, in 1966, that he met the love of his life, Betty Lucille Wooten. As a teenager, Patrick swore he wouldn’t marry until he turned 25. True to his word, the day after his 25th birthday, they were married, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned nearly six decades.

Patrick proudly served his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army in 1963 and spent six years in the Army Reserves during the Vietnam War. As part of a combat engineering unit, he helped build infrastructure such as roads and airstrips that supported military operations.

Patrick had a deep love for the mountains and the peace they offered. He found joy in the quiet beauty of nature and chose to move and raise his family in the rural mountain town of Suches, Georgia, and later in life, he and his wife moved to Florissant, Colorado. Patrick embraced the slower pace of life, the crisp mountain air, and watching the change of seasons.

Patrick was a devoted father and grandfather who made time for what mattered most to him—his family. He was often seen throwing baseballs with his son, rebounding basketballs for his daughter, and cheering them on at their high school and college sports games. Later in life, he was a joyful and engaged grandfather—playing chase, riding scooters, throwing baseballs, and showing off his competitive streak in spirited games of wall-ball.

Patrick was also deeply devoted to his faith. Throughout his life, he remained active in his church community and served as a deacon in the Church of God, a Worldwide Association. His spiritual leadership was a quiet but powerful example to all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Mary Lynch.

Patrick is survived by his wife, Betty Lynch of Florissant, CO; his daughter, Sherry Fuessel (Ryan) of Denver, CO; his son, Patrick R. Lynch Jr. (Michelle) of Marietta, GA; and six grandchildren: Aiden Lynch, Garrett Lynch, Abigail Fuessel, Katherine Fuessel, Lauren Fuessel, and Elle Fuessel. His legacy lives on in their lives, in the stories he told, and in the quiet strength he modeled every day.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Horan & McConaty Funeral Home, 5303 E County Line Road, Centennial, CO 80122. Mr. Larry Neff will officiate. There will be a livestream of the service available. The burial will be private for immediate family.
