Patrick Bobo

August 26, 1986 — October 29, 2021

End of Watch 10-29-2021
Patrick was born in Aurora, CO in August 1986 to the parents of Robert L. Bobo (now retired Corporate SVP and US Army Veteran) and Patricia A. Bronner-Bobo (Retired US Government Employee), Patrick’s older brother is Robert L. Bobo. Patrick and Robert both grew up with youth sports, the outdoors and family travel. Over 11-years, Patrick and Robert both became competitive travel hockey players and they were always very close. Patrick played AA travel hockey in addition to being the Co-Captain of his High School Varsity Lacross team, he was a team USA hockey prospect 3 times, which included training at the USOC facility in Colorado Springs. As a family, our local and national travel schedule was both grueling & rewarding. Patrick always had a blast, he loved life, enjoyed joking around with his buddies, family members and always looked forward to our family camping trips every summer. As a senior in high school, Patrick decided not pursue Junior A hockey after High School, instead he joined the Aurora Police Explorer program, completing explorer academy March 2005 and advancing to Explorer Sargent. While attending Metro State College for 3 years with a Criminal justice major, he played for Metro Lacross team and was drafted by the PHIA Aurora Crimson Cats professional Inline Hockey Team, Patrick left Metro State to attend the Police Academy and at 21 he Joined the Ault Police Department as a Police Officer, from 2007-2021 he advanced to Field Training Officer and Detective. His community commitment was extraordinary, from helping the homeless & runaways to community policing and years of volunteer service to Santa Cops.
In 2010 Patrick met the love of his life, Kelly Culbertson from Ireland, they traveled to Ireland together and in 2011, Kelly and Patrick were married in Denver in 2011, he enjoyed gourmet cooking for Kelly, planting his garden, loved his family pets Pebbles, BamBam & Jamison, enjoyed travel to Europe and US destinations. Patrick always made in a point to visit with the local police in Ireland, becoming good friends with an Ireland police detective family member.
Patrick is a good man that was loved by his family, the fun him and his brother had growing up and traveling was rewarding to watch, every family meal always ended up with Patrick or Robert bringing up a wild hockey trip when they were kids. Patrick has a big heart, never complained and always did his best to help others even though he was in pain himself, he will be missed by our entire family forever. Patrick died at 35 from a tragic falling accident at his home.
