Patricia Kaye Wiggers

February 2, 1936 — March 20, 2024

Littleton

Patricia Kaye Wiggers (Patsy). Born 2-2-1936, passed away 3-20-2024.

Patsy was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Ted and Mabel Rush. She had one older brother, Gene Roger Rush. Patsy grew up in Oklahoma City, North Kansas City, Kansas City, Palacios, TX and Angleton, TX where she graduated high school. Patsy was always interested in teaching and graduated from Southwest Texas Teachers’ College (now Texas State University) in San Marcos after attending from 1954-1958. She met Henry Wiggers in 1957 and went on their first date in February of that year. By the second date they began to make wedding plans, and seven months later they were married. Patsy was an amazing wife to Henry and a wonderful mother to Kirk and Greg. Patsy accomplished her goal of teaching, eventually educating elementary students for 16 years in Hitchcock, Odessa, Amarillo, San Antonio, and El Paso, TX. During time away from teaching, she served as Music Secretary and Media Director at First Baptist Church in Amarillo. She finished her career as a teacher at Castle Hills First Baptist Church School in San Antonio.

Patsy and Henry found opportunities to change cities several times in their marriage, finally settling in Amarillo, TX to raise their family. One of the constants through all the moves was the friends they made with neighbors and with people they met in church. Patsy was a loyal and life-long friend. Patsy valued and found comfort in her friends and loved to stay in contact and visit them as often as possible. She loved the Lord and spoke often of how she found peace through her faith in God and cherished the friends she made at church. She also treasured time with her sons, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren. After traveling back and forth from San Antonio to Littleton, CO for several years, Patsy and Henry decided to move to Colorado in 2004 to spend more time with their four grandchildren. She enjoyed her time in Colorado with Henry, appreciating the beauty of the state and eventually joining Mission Hills Church, making many more life-long friends.

Patsy’s family felt very loved and cared for by her, and she would consider her family her greatest legacy. Patsy lost her brave battle with cancer and went to be with the Lord on 3/20/2024, the first day of Spring. She passed away at home peacefully, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Henry Wiggers, sons Kirk Wiggers and Greg Wiggers, daughters-in-law Kirsten Wiggers and Laurie Wiggers, grandchildren Mason Wiggers, Cole Wiggers, Eva Wiggers and Brady Wiggers, cousin Ken Moore, sister-in-law Mary Rush, and nephews Ted Rush, Jeff Rush, Neil Punchard, David Punchard and Paul Punchard. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, Patsy preferred donations be made to Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch www.calfarley.org
