Patricia Ann Rasmussen, age 90, passed into eternity on October 24, 2020 while surrounded by her loving family in Thornton, CO.
Patricia was born on November 4, 1929 in Scottsbluff, NE to Lucille and Thomas Flynn. She was the oldest of three daughters. Patty weighed a little over 3 pounds when she was born. They said that her head fit into a teacup and her whole body into a shoe box.
As a child, Patricia began listening to the Word of God. She later made her decision to allow God to take control of and guide her through life. She was faithful all her days and kept true to that decision until her last breath.
She met Richard Rasmussen while in high school and they married on December 7, 1948 when Patricia was 19 years old. Over the next several years, Patricia and Richard started a family in Nebraska, moved to Cheyenne in 1962 and finally settled in Thornton in 1969. Patricia vowed to never move again and remained in that house until the end.
In 1970, Patricia started working at the Samsonite manufacturing plant. After more than 20 years with the company, she retired so that she and Richard could travel and winter in Tucson, AZ where they lived with their oldest daughter Amy and husband Arlan. Patricia loved to read her Bible, play and sing hymns on the piano, crotchet, do puzzles, play games, bake, and spend time with her family.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Richard), and sisters (Jane Nation and Beth Nation). She leaves behind her 7 children, Steven (Twyla), Terry, Amy (Arlan) Zahorka, Dianne White, April (Craig) Carlson, Sharon (Dan) Byers, William (Amii), 21 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
