Patricia Ann Fallon Plank
With deep love and profound gratitude, we remember Patricia Ann Plank, lovingly known as “Fanny,” who passed peacefully at the age of 93. She was the heart of her family, the quiet strength at its center, and a woman whose life reflected faith lived daily, generously, and with great love.
Patricia was born to Frank E. and Mabel C.Fallon. An only child, she was raised with strong Catholic values and a deep sense of responsibility. From humble beginnings, she learned perseverance, humility, and service—virtues that shaped the life she went on to build and the countless people she cared for so faithfully.
She shared seventy-one years of marriage with her beloved husband, Leonard P. Plank. Their life together was rooted in faith and sustained by devotion to one another. Patricia stood faithfully at Leonard’s side through every season of life, offering strength, counsel, and unwavering support. She was his confidante and constant companion, the quiet force behind all that he became. Only weeks after Leonard’s passing, Patricia followed him home, their bond enduring beyond this life.
Patricia’s Catholic faith was the foundation of her days. Prayer was woven into the rhythm of her life, and the daily Rosary was her anchor. Through its familiar prayers, she entrusted her family, her joys, and her sorrows to God. Her devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary guided the way she lived—with humility, patience, and a heart open to sacrifice. Like Mary, Patricia carried the needs of others quietly, trusting fully in God’s will and offering her life as a gift of love.
Patricia valued friendship and community. She remained socially engaged throughout her life and cherished the connections she built and sustained. Her Christ the King bridge group, which met faithfully for more than sixty years, reflected her loyalty, warmth, and joy in shared time. She believed deeply in showing up for others and staying connected.
Within her family, Patricia was the glue. She remembered birthdays, marked milestones, and noticed when someone needed care. She did so much for everyone—often quietly, always faithfully. Her love was steady and reassuring, her presence a source of comfort and strength.
Patricia’s favorite days were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was often found sitting on the dock with a fishing rod in her hand, a grandchild tucked close on either side. When she caught a fish, the moment became a shared celebration—family gathering, children eager to help—like a scene from a Norman Rockwell painting. She would beam with pride holding her fresh catch, then later clean it at the sink and direct exactly how it should be prepared, smiling from ear to ear.
She loved football and the time it brought her family together. It never mattered whether the game was college or professional, or whether the teams were favorites. She rooted with her whole heart and carried that same instinct into life, always quick to encourage and support others. Though small in stature, she possessed remarkable strength of spirit. She never gave up on anyone. Her strength lived in her smile and her enduring optimism.
Patricia was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She and Leonard raised six children, building a family grounded in love, faith, and constancy. She was predeceased by their son Leonard (“Lenny”) Plank and by their grandson Nick—losses she carried with deep faith, quiet grace, and enduring love.
She is survived by her children: Mary (Max); Martin (Kim); Kathleen; Paula (Walter); and Nancy (Steve); as well as fifteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, each of whom knew her love, felt her steady presence, and will carry her spirit forward.
Patricia was truly one of the most remarkable women any of us will ever know. Her life was a testament to faith lived sincerely, love given freely, and service offered without measure. While words can never fully capture who she was, her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured, the faith she passed down, and the countless lives shaped by her care.
She now rests in the peace of Christ, reunited with her beloved Leonard. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, rest in peace.
