Patricia "Pat" Ann Corbo

Patricia Ann Corbo of Littleton, Colorado passed away peacefully on September 15, 2025, surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with multiple health challenges. She was 84 years old.

The eldest of two children, Pat was born in Newton, Massachusetts to Stephen and Florence (Sharpe) Keris. She was raised in Needham, Massachusetts, attended school there and worked as a camp counselor at Tabor Camp where she also taught horseback riding. Pat graduated from Needham High School in 1959 and went on to earn a two-year X-Ray Technician degree from Carnegie Medical Institute in Boston. After graduating, she worked in a clinic as a medical assistant and an x-ray lab technician.

In 1963, Pat married Jerome Corbo, and they moved to South Natick, Massachusetts. They shared 12 years of marriage, raising three children. In 1970, the family of five made a big move, traveling halfway across the country to settle in Littleton, Colorado. As a young mother, Pat was always up for an adventure. She embraced all that Colorado had to offer. Camping, hiking and skiing were constant activities in her family life. Many summer days were spent with her 3 children at Bow Mar Lake. She was a very active participant in her children’s lives; an avid fan of whatever sport they were playing at the time and serving as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader.

As her children got older, Pat decided to jump back into the workforce. She was hired as a receptionist at an orthopedic practice and was quickly promoted to office manager. In 1981, Pat was offered a sales opportunity with a medical supply company and then in 1983 she moved into her dream job of selling orthopedic implants. Pat was a trailblazer. She was one of only a few women on the national sales team. Pat remained in orthopedic sales until she retired in 2006, winning multiple sales contests and being recognized nationally for her sales achievements. Not one to ever sit idle, she was a certified aerobic teacher and taught classes for many years.

After retiring, Pat spent many years serving as a volunteer, first as an ombudsman for nursing home residents and then as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) for Jefferson County. Always an advocate for the underserved, she was passionate about women’s rights and animal welfare. Pat was a proud Founder (land donator) at The Wild Horse Refuge in Craig and the Wild Animal Refuge in Springfield.

A lifelong lover of nature, Pat was in her element among trees, mountains, and open skies. Whether hiking in the mountains or tending to her outdoor gardens and vast array of indoor plants, Pat felt most at home in the natural world. She loved animals of all kinds

particularly horses, taking her final ride in New Mexico at 82 years old. Many rescued dogs and cats were fortunate to find a forever home with Pat.

Pat’s house was her pride and joy. She had an impeccable eye for design and décor, continually making upgrades to her California contemporary home. Her love of design evolved out of her early hobbies of oil painting, sketching and silverwork.

Pat was a voracious reader. She could always be found deep into a novel or a magazine. She was a passionate political thinker and was always ready to discuss current events. Throughout her life, Pat was a lifelong learner. She embraced traveling with trips to England, Italy and Ireland as high points in her life.

Pat is survived by her loving children: Cynthia (Randy) of Ashland, MA, James (Tracy) Corbo of Highlands Ranch and Catherine (Stephen) Whitmore of Centennial. Pat is also survived by her brother Stephen (Maryann) Keris Jr. of Plymouth, MA, devoted friend and father of her children Jerome (Leonora) Corbo of Centennial and her sister-in-law, Faith Casler of South, Natick, MA. She was the proud grandmother of: Peter Whitmore, Joseph Whitmore, Jack Hilgren, Tyler Corbo and Sterling Corbo. Pat also leaves behind 9 nieces and nephews, cousins and many cherished friends. Pat was predeceased by her parents Stephen and Florence Keris.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s memory may be made to Colorado Horse Rescue, The Max Fund, Plant a Tree and the National Audubon Society or a charity of your choice.
