Patricia “Pat” Kaptain cherished and beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, May 11th, 2024. She was born on November 14th, 1936, in Bronxville New York to George Henry Gardner Jr and Eleanor Rubidge Cohoe.
She graduated from Charles E. Gorton High School in 1953 and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Michigan in 1957.
She had many “careers” including homemaker, mother, grandmother, best friend and realtor. She loved doing puzzles, game nights, reality tv, shopping, going to the mountains, and doing picnics at the lake.
She is survived by her husband Samuel Paul Kaptain, sister Joan Gardner Moore, children Susan Nolte (Chris), Sheila Williams, Cynthia Early (Mike), Paul Kaptain, Lynda Paxson (Lee), Janice Kaptain, Diane Gross (David), and 28 grand and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Barbara Cohoe Wilson and one grandchild.
A viewing and memorial service will be held at Horan & McConaty, at 5303 E County Line Road, Centennial, CO 80122 on Monday June 3rd. Visitation will be at 10am, followed by the Memorial service at 11am. A short burial service will follow at Fort Logan National Cemetery at 1:30pm. A potluck reception will be held later in the day after the services. Directions to the reception will be provided at the memorial service. Remember to bring a lawn chair and something to share. We will have a BBQ if you would like to grill.
