After a difficult battle with Alzheimer’s Disease, Patricia Joyce Farrell, 77, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away peacefully on October 13, surrounded by her devoted children.
Patty was born on September 9, 1945, in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey, the daughter of Frank B. and Imogene (Patterson) Amodeo.
After graduating from Governor Livingston High School, Patty married the love of her life, Ronald, in 1965. Patty and Ron were married for over 56 years.
Patty was a fiercely loyal mother and grandmother. A dedicated cheerleader for her sons, she spent countless hours in the bleachers watching baseball and wrestling, where she also met many life-long friends. Patty had an infectious laugh, was a voracious reader and a master of crossword puzzles.
She and Ron relocated to Colorado in 2006, as being a long-distance grandma was unthinkable. She adored her grandchildren, who she affectionately referred to as her little chickens.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband just last year. Patty is survived by her daughter and son-in law, Amy and E.J. Leal, of Centennial, CO; sons Ronald of Berkeley Heights, NJ, and Michael of Laporte, CO; and grandchildren Frankie and Sophia.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 17th at 11:00 AM at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home at 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, CO 80014.
