Pat passed away after away a year-long battle with cancer. She was born in Alton, Illinois. She married Joseph Jensen, her South African sweetheart whom she met at the University of Illinois. They moved to Denver in 1959, and bought a home where they raised 3 children, and enjoyed family and friends for 54 years. Pat had a life long curiosity and thirst for knowledge; she enjoyed study groups, book clubs, and earned a Master's degree in Social Work at the University of Denver in 1976. She worked in private practice and volunteered for the Grief Education Institute for next 20 years. She loved to travel and experience other cultures and ways of living, and organized trips to over 40 countries, including 8 bike trips through Europe, as well as trips to volunteer in Ghana and South Africa. Pat is survived by Joseph Jensen; her sister, Janice Hegarty; her son Bruce (Susan Welch), daughter Kathy (Bruce McClintock), and 4 grandchildren, Conner Jensen, Kevin Welch-Maguire, Hanna and Jamie McClintock. Her son, Rick Jensen, preceded her in death. Services will be held at Montview Boulevard Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia Street, at 2 PM on Saturday April 25, where her ashes will be interred. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Montview, Clermont Park, or the charity of your choice. Pat's vibrant personality, warmth and intelligence, and compassionate heart will continue to inspire all who knew her. Share condolences at the Guestbook link below.
