Patricia Ann Gilbert

Patricia Ann Gilbert “Patty Ann”, age 85, went home to be with the lord on February 4, 2024. She grew up near Eastlake, Colorado on a dairy farm where her family served as farm hands, raising and caring for the dairy cattle. While in High School the family moved to Adams City where she graduated from Adams City High School. She took some bookkeeping courses after High School and worked various jobs around the Commerce City area. She started a career with Western Electric but chose later to become a Paraprofessional for Adams County School District 12. She worked at several of the local elementary schools up to her retirement.  

In 1960 she was introduced to William Leonard Gilbert of Omaha, Nebraska. They married on October 6, 1960, and began a great life together. In 1962 they purchased a new home in Northglenn, Colorado that would serve as their home for the remainder of their lives. They enjoyed camping and eating out with friends and family. They participated in activities with the Catholic Church, the Elks Club, and Knight of Columbus.

In September of 1971 she gave birth to William Patrick Gilbert and added devoted mother to the list of accomplishments in her life, along with devoted wife. She enjoyed animals of all kinds throughout her life, especially her puppy dogs. 

She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Bill and Denna Gilbert; her grandchildren: Tevin Gilbert, Jessie and David Hall, and Chase Gilbert. She is also survived by her siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, William Leonard Gilbert.

Memorial Services will take place on February 21, 2024 at 5:00pm at Horan & McConaty in Thornton, Colorado. A reception will follow with desserts, fruits, and drinks. Please send any gifts or flowers for the family to Horan & McConaty (9998 Grant St., Thornton, CO 80229).
