Patricia Ann Gerwig was born on August 11, 1934 and passed away on April 13, 2023. She was 88 years old. Pat was preceded in death by her husband David Gerwig.
Pat was born in Sioux City, Iowa, moving with her family to Colorado when she was 13. She attended North Presbyterian Church where she met and married David Gerwig on June 10, 1957. During their nearly 65 year marriage, they made their homes in Denver, Arvada, Wheat Ridge, and Greeley, Colorado.
Pat was a graduate of North High School in Denver. After high school, she worked at Public Service Company of Colorado. Pat worked for many years as a secretary at Eagleton Elementary School in Denver, a job she enjoyed. Later, she became a tax preparer and opened her own business “Pat’s Tax Service.”
In her spare time she enjoyed golfing, fishing, and traveling with Dave. Pat was creative, from art to music, she enjoyed painting ceramics, cross stitching, sewing, and played the accordion and the organ. Many family members were fortunate to receive her handmade gifts. Pat was a talented cook. Her legendary scratch-made spaghetti sauce will be missed.
Pat loved and valued time with her family, celebrating all holidays. She will be remembered by her grandchildren for their weekend overnights, one-on-one times together, and by many of her great grandchildren for good times spent playing and eating at McDonald’s.
Pat is survived by her daughter Lynn Mossbrucker (Mike Burgess) of Littleton, Colorado and two sons Jim Gerwig (Mardy) of Greeley, Colorado and John Gerwig of Wellington, Colorado, and her sister Joanna Rich (Bob) of Savannah, Georgia. She was also a wonderful grandmother to her nine grandchildren including Matthew, Erin, Annie, Alex,Will and Tim from her daughter Lynn, and from Jim: Katy, Jeffery,
and Becca. Pat became a great-grandmother for the seventeenth time just a month before her death.
