Patricia E. Gengaro, age 69, passed away peacefully at Denver Hospice on November 2nd, 2020 after a long battle with Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer.
Patricia was born on December 29, 1950 in Houston, TX. She lived in Houston as a young child before moving to Shreveport, LA with her family as a young teen. She moved back to Houston after graduating from college with a Bachelor's of Science in Microbiology and started her life as a young professional in the scientific community. Pat eventually moved to Denver to advance her career in Health Sciences at the University of Colorado, specializing in Renal Research. As a Senior Research Assistant under the chair of medicine at UC Health, she had many notable accomplishments. This included nationally recognized grant approvals and studies published in several journals, including The National Institute of Health. Throughout her professional career, she made many lifelong friends and colleagues. Pat also loved to travel the world and enjoyed spending time near the ocean, specifically in San Jose del Cabo. Pat built a beautiful life and home with her husband Anthony A. Gengaro, never forgetting to enjoy a cup of coffee in the sunshine or an evening on the porch with a glass of Pinot Grigio. Pat was a beloved mother to her son Anthony, who not only shares her deep blue eyes but also her steadfast love of family.
Patricia is survived by her brother David Arnold, her son Anthony D. Gengaro, and daughter
in-law Erin Claxton. Pat was preceded in death by her father Edwin Arnold Jr., mother Margery Elain Gunby, and husband Anthony A. Gengaro.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday November 21st, 2020 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home located at 5303 E County Line Rd., Centennial, CO, 80122.
