Patricia Panek Carpenter passed away on May 15, 2025. Born June 28, 1929 in Kearney, Nebraska to Katherine and Adolph (Pat) Panek. She was an only child. Her family moved to Denver, Colorado when she was a young child. She attended East High School, where her father, Pat Panek, was a renowned head football coach. She attended the University of Colorado and earned a degree in primary education. She met her loving husband, William H Carpenter, at the university. They married after graduation and lived in Durango, Colorado and Casper, Wyoming where Patricia taught elementary school. She would return to teaching at other times throughout her life in schools around the Denver area.
Patricia and William eventually settled in Denver, Colorado where they raised their three children, Christine (Miguel), John (Jan), and James. She is survived by her children, four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, Julia (Jeff, Ashlyn and Sean), Thomas (Chelsea, William and Jack), Claire (Matt, Jude and William) and Emily (Nora and Logan).
She was a world traveler, accomplished bridge player and good cook. She enjoyed a good book and watching sports on television, especially Colorado Rockies baseball and Notre Dame football. She was blessed by many friendships from her Delta Gamma sorority at CU and her church circle from Christ the King parish.
