Obituary

Patricia Lorraine Cain, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2026.

Born in Denver, Colorado on November 8, 1954, Patty was a proud Colorado native through and through. She attended Machebeuf High School before transferring to East High School, where her athleticism quickly set her apart. Patricia was a natural athlete whose grace and discipline were evident from a young age. She was a diver and served as captain of her high school girls basketball team, embodying the competitiveness and quiet confidence that would mark her life. She simply loved to play. Later in life, she found joy on the golf course, playing with her family and friends but mostly with Jim, her husband of 47 years.

Her love of sports continued beyond high school. Patty proudly served as a Denver Broncos cheerleader, a role that reflected both her athletic spirit and her lifelong devotion to her hometown team.

Patty was beautiful, athletic, quick with a smile, and peppered everything with just the right amount of sarcasm. She had a laugh that filled a room and a gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved. Whether chatting with a cashier at Safeway or cheering loudly during a Broncos game, she brought lightness and warmth wherever she went.

Above all, Patty’s greatest role was that of wife and mother. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jim Cain; her son, Eric Cain; her daughter, Christine Ascani; her daughter-in-law, Molly Cain; and her son-in-law, Sean Ascani. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Stella, Devlyn, Leon, Grace, and Noah, who were the absolute joy of her life.

She is also survived by her brother, Art, and her sister, Deb.

Patty was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine; her father, Arthur; her sister, Kathy; and her brother, Tommy. We take comfort in knowing she is reunited with them.

A fighter with deep faith and quiet strength, Patty faced life’s challenges with courage and grace. She loved fiercely, laughed loudly, and lived intentionally. Her legacy is one of unconditional love, resilience, gratitude, and the simple but powerful ability to make others feel at home.

Her family will forever carry her spirit forward - in their laughter, in their competitiveness, in their love for Colorado sunsets and Sunday football, and in the unwavering confidence that comes from knowing they were always in her corner.

She will be deeply missed and endlessly remembered.

Rosary service is scheduled for Thursday, March 12th, 2026, at 10:30 am at Light of the World Church located at 10306 West Bowles Ave. Littleton, CO. 80127. Memorial Mass will follow beginning at 11:00 am. All are welcome!
