Pat Ruth Siler

Pat (Ivey) Hammons Siler passed away peacefully in Westminster, CO on June 9, 2020 after succumbing to complications from Alzheimer's disease. She had turned 88 two days earlier. Pat was born to Ernest and Pearl Ivey on June 7, 1932 in Lone Wolf, OK. She met Dale Hammons after playing in a girls basketball game (with a red ribbon in her hair) and they married on April 15, 1950. After Dale served a year in the Korean War and later finished his undergraduate degree at OU, Pat and Dale moved to Hugo, OK in 1956, and together, set up Dale's CPA practice.

After graduating from Southeastern Oklahoma University, Pat became an art teacher and later a Counselor at Hugo High School. In 1980, she moved to Norman, OK where she worked as a Counselor at Moore Junior High and then West Moore High School. She retired in May, 1997.

In June,1998 she married Doctor Bill Siler. Pat and Bill initially lived in Harrah, OK and then in Norman, OK until Bill passed away in 2015. Later in 2015, she moved to Greenridge Memory Care in Westminster, CO where she remained until her death.

She is survived by her two daughters, Susan Hammons Oswalt and her husband, Hal of Tulsa, OK, and Sherri Hammons and her wife, Kally Tisdel of Sedona, AZ; first cousin, Donna Weil of Elk City, her daughter Kelly and husband, Keith also of Elk City, and their two daughters.

Pat lived a full life, loved art, music, and all things beautiful. She loved to dress up, spend time with family and friends, and always enjoyed a good laugh! She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful staff at Greenridge Place Memory Care for taking such good care of Pat for the last 5 years. We would also like to thank the hospice staff who attended to her during her final months. Our hearts are grateful to each of you who helped her with her journey.
