Obituary

Pamela Lynn Laning, of Denver, Colorado, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at the age of 61. To her family, she was the woman who made birthdays over the top, Christmas feel magical, and handmade quilts something to treasure. Her greatest happiness came from seeing her children and grandchildren happy, and she spent so much of her life finding ways to bring them joy.

Pam put her whole heart into the things she did. Every year, she grew a garden full of herbs, zucchini, pumpkins, tomatoes, and green beans. She loved tracing the family’s history and discovering the people and stories that came before them. With patience and creativity, she made quilted masterpieces for her daughters, giving each of them something beautiful made by her own hands.

With her grandchildren, happiness could be as simple as baking cookies or playing checkers together. Her favorite place to be was in the backyard, relaxing on the swing and watching her grandchildren play. She loved all dogs, especially her Bud, Boo-Boo, and Oliver, who held a special place in her heart.

Nobody planned a birthday quite like Pam. She thought through every detail: multiple games, extravagant party favors, and a custom-made cake that brought the whole theme together. At Christmas, that same care went into choosing the most thoughtful gifts and wrapping each one perfectly.

Pam was a highly educated legal assistant with a strong will and a mind of her own. She taught her family that their beliefs were their own and worth fighting for. Her daughters will carry that lesson with them, along with the memory of a mother who cared deeply about their happiness and wanted them to stand confidently in who they were.

She leaves behind her husband and devoted caretaker, Cory; her daughters, Melanie Grace, Andrea Helene, Stephanie Kay, and Taylor Anne; and her grandchildren, Demi Lynn, Elliana Rae, Dominic Makai, Nora Kay, Solaya Natalia-Rose, and Archie James.

Pam will be missed in the everyday moments and especially when the family gathers to celebrate. Her love will live on in the quilts her daughters wrap around themselves, in memories of baking cookies and playing checkers with her grandchildren, and in the care her family takes to make one another feel special.
