Pamela Mae Grotegut, 76 years of age, was surrounded by her three daughters when she passed away peacefully due to complications following open heart surgery at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver, Colorado on March 18th, 2023.

Pam held a life-long passion for music and received a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the University of Northern Iowa. She also earned her Masters Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin in Plateville. In addition, Pam was an Administrative Officer in the United States Marine Corps, stationed at Camp Lejune in North Carolina.

Pam taught elementary music for over 35 years, specializing in ORFF education. She has been an ardent and expressive performer throughout her life. She most recently was performing with various recorder orchestras and music groups around the Denver Metro area, a source of great joy and meaningful friendships for her.

Pam always had an adventurous spirit and enjoyed international travel, learning about new cultures, tasting new foods, and riding horses. She loved animals and throughout her life adopted many older dogs, giving them a loving home in which to spend their golden years.

She deeply enjoyed spending time with her three daughters and was extremely proud of their accomplishments. She was also very proud of her grandchildren, always making time for them and building their relationship.

Pam is survived by her three daughters, Kristen Grotegut, Jennifer Braly, and Jodi Grotegut; her son-in-law, Edward Braly; her fiancé, Harry Edwards; and her three grandchildren, Joshua Widdowson, Elyana Braly, and Aleah Braly. She is also survived by one brother and several cousins who live in Iowa and Hawaii. Pam is preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence Walterick, Lila Jean Riker, and her step-father, Richard Riker.
