Orval Lee Thompson

Orval Lee Thompson, age 93, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026. He was a graduate of Westminster High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Ann Murray. He was drafted into the Army and served in the Korean War. When he returned he joined his dad and brothers in a construction business and was a carpenter by trade and well known for his masonry skills as well as all other parts of the construction business. He later worked at Fitzsimmons Army hospital in the construction and maintenance department retiring from there.

He was an avid bowler and a baseball coach for many years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and playing horseshoes. In retirement he also enjoyed traveling the world with his wife, Margaret. They enjoyed taking cruises and visiting places such as Tahiti, Spain, Ireland, Scotland, Sweden, Finland, St. Petersburg, Jamaica, plus traveling the eastern part of the US in a motorhome.

He lived in a retirement community in Longmont for 16 years during which time he made new friends and enjoyed many of the activities of the community.

He is survived by his five children and their spouses, Roxanne (Lee) Eva (Glenn), Tom (Cindy), Will (Jenny), and Katie (B.J.). He has 10 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren He is also survived by his youngest brother, Dale, of La Junta, CO and his dear friend, Diane Blandy of Longmont.

He lived a long and wonderful life leaving his legacy of peace, enjoyment, and love of life to continue through the future generations.

Celebration of Life service will be held: Bethlehem Lutheran Church 1000 15th Avenue
