Orla Silver

Orla Silver was born on June 5, 1937 in Abilene, Kansas.  She grew up on a farm, raised by her parents, Orville and Lois Robson. Orla met her lifelong sweetheart, Dave, while he was stationed at Schilling Air Force Base in Salina, Kansas. Their courtship could be a script for a Hollywood movie: city boy from the Bronx meets farm girl from rural Kansas! They were married on July 18, 1958. Orla was the consummate military wife, dealing with: frequent moves around the country, feeding three ravenous sons (on a meager military salary), and keeping the home fires burning while her husband was frequently gone on deployments, including a year apart during the Vietnam War. After Dave retired from the Air Force in 1974, they settled in Lakewood, Colorado, and faithfully attended Littleton Bible Chapel.  She went home to be with her Savior on December 1, 2023. Orla is survived by her three sons, Brad, Mark, and Steve; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a selfless individual who possessed an amazing dedication to her faith in God, and a giving, caring spirit that brought joy to everyone she met.
